The Town of Bethel is located 90 miles from New York City, Albany and Binghamton in Sullivan County New York. Site of the original 1969 Woodstock Festival.
The Town of Bethel includes the hamlets of White Lake, Kauneonga Lake, Smallwood, Bethel, parts of Swan Lake, Mongaup Valley and Briscoe.
New in 2019 is the Town of Bethel Heritage Trail and the Sullivan Catskills Dove Trail (which includes 8 Bethel Doves).
Our main industries are tourism, (visit the Sullivan County Visitor's Assocation and the Bethel Business Association websites) and agriculture (Bethel Farming Community) . We were once referred to as the Borsch Belt. For more information check out our About Bethel and Historian Pages.
